I was pretty reluctant to jump on the Elf On The Shelf trend, however, I am really glad I did. Don’t tell my kids, but I may be having more fun with it than they are!
The reason that I was reluctant really comes down to time. The holiday season is already so busy and I didn’t want to attempt a feat that would only disappoint them or myself when it slowly petered out due to busy schedules and/or forgetfulness.
It turns out just a little bit of planning ahead and leaning on others for the work that’s already been done (ie FREE printables!) and it is actually a breeze (and super fun) to pull off.
We are two years in and it has now become something the entire family looks forward to (despite the mom groans you hear about it on the playground it’s actually awesome!)
